No Turtle, Still Happy

I ended up not messing around with my guitar and just worked on finishing a little side project from 2022. I honestly don’t remember when I recorded the cover, and the file timestamps are inaccurate. It would have been between Spring 2020 and Spring 2022 for sure. It was a vocal cover of the song “Transmission” by Joy Division. And I decided to pair it with an old video of me singing it to share with my friends. So, finally finishing an old project vs starting yet another one felt satisfying. Here’s hoping I can finally sleep even for a little as insomnia kicked my ass tonight.

Happy Turtling

Not a whole lotta people know this however, I’ve been struggling a lot recently. More so than the normal, of which I honestly hate as it was. It’s more hard-hitting when I want to express it through art, and yet I can’t seem to make up my mind on how. I did seem to hit a decent idea of making a track inspired by the famous hit from the Turtles, “Happy Together”, once I figured out a means to play guitar with the current skill level I have with it. It’s frustrating, I’m at a bit of a glass ceiling with it; however, if I can pull this off, it’ll improve my morale.

Stressful Hope

There are some days I don’t feel like living through, for one reason or another. Sometimes it’s stress, sometimes it’s boredom, and even at times dread. I always find a way to mush through it through, as I almost always have hope. Even in my darkest days I would use what little energy I had, yearning for the next day, as my struggles would often overwhelm my passion for today. And it is with this stated I am excited and hopeful for the days to come in my life, as I feel this current shroud of darkness is coming to a close and a beam a light will surely break through at any moment.

Put a Knight through your Chess

Ah, Chess. I’m not good at it but I’m fond of you through helping me get past tough times. Whenever I get too depressed, I always play a game or two with a friend. It eases the mind by:

1. Focusing on the Game

2. Chew the Fat with Friends

3. A Nice Change of Pace from other Activities

And I like having a really nice wooden board and pieces to play on, it adds class to my life. And we all need to feel fancy every once in a while. And if you noticed, the title for this post is a play on words. Put a Knight through your Chess sounds like Put a Knife through your Chest, doesn’t it? Anyhow, I think I might play a game on Chess.com. It’s a very nice site to play Chess on. You can learn better tactics through lessons from videos and/or mentors, as well as playing a few games with your friends. Best of all, it’s free! Find me* on there, and I might just play a game with you.

WORDdePRESSion

The only reason I don’t do much of anything is this: Depression. Well, I plan to remedy that endless sorrow by doing things other than video games to boost my morale. The first thing, and it’s going to benefit me, is adding content to this graveyard I call my website. I am going to the Press in WordPress. After my site is flourishing, I’m going to reboot some dormant series that I created ages ago. And whilst I’m doing that, I start using FaceBook, Twitter, Instagram and all of the other Social Media sites as they were intended, and not as a glorified RSS reader. This may seem kind of an odd way to battle depression, but it’s what I know. And besides battling depression, I have more content to put into my portfolio. I hope this plan works out and is not just all talk.
